Walgreens mission is to help people get, stay and live well. Living a heart healthy lifestyle and knowing your numbers is a critical part of achieving wellness. Regular health testing is one of the best ways for people to manage their heart health. All Walgreens pharmacists, Healthcare Clinic nurse practitioners and physician assistants offer free blood pressure testing at over 8,000 pharmacies throughout the country. Individuals are encouraged to share test results with their primary care physicians and to track their blood pressure results consistently.
Walgreens also offers comprehensive health testing at over 4,400 stores in 41 states. Talk to your local Walgreens pharmacist regarding how to make healthy choices, ask general health questions and finding out about the right testing supplies and over-the-counter (OTC) products for you.
To further their commitment to wellness, Walgreens created the Balance® Rewards program. It is the first retail rewards program that not only rewards you for your purchases, but also for the healthy choices you make every day including walking, running, weight management and testing your blood pressure and blood glucose.* Walgreens is also making it easier for you to earn points by partnering with your favorite health-tracking devices or mobile apps to have your progress sent directly to your Balance Rewards account. For program details and a full list of compatible devices, visit walgreens.com/healthychoices.
How is Walgreens working with the American Heart Association?
During American Heart month in February, Walgreens partners with the American Heart Association to encourage everyone to get their blood pressure tested and know their risk of heart disease. Walgreens offers Balance® Rewards points for every free blood pressure test taken at Walgreens in February along with the American Heart Association’s blood pressure tracker and informational brochure to every testing consumer. ~
During February Walgreens customers are able to support the American Heart Association’s risk awareness programs by donating on pin pad devices at check-out. Walgreens customers have donated millions of dollars to the AHA over the last two years. ^
