Our Goal: 3 Million Blood Pressure Checks in One Month
Measuring blood pressure regularly is an important part of keeping high blood pressure controlled. Also, many people with high blood pressure don’t even know they have it. That’s why we want to encourage as many people as possible to get a blood pressure check this May.
Once again, the AHA is collaborating with the World Hypertension League(WHL) to support their “Know Your Numbers” campaign in recognition of National High Blood Pressure Education Month. We are hoping to be a significant contributing partner and have set a goal of logging 3 million blood pressure checks, and we need your help to reach our goal — and ultimately save lives. This campaign will launch on May 1 and will conclude on May 31.
We are encouraging our important alliances to:
- share with us their data on the # of BP checks that were taken between May 1 – May 31.
- host blood pressure screening events on or around World Hypertension Day.
- share World Hypertension Day announcements and other important blood pressure messages (see campaign toolkit for sample social media posts and email copy)
- use #WorldHypertensionDay on May 17 in addition to #CheckIt in social posting
Large organizations or clinics can share BP check totals easily by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or submitting online at targetbp.org/may-bp.
